my mother is nuts. bless her heart.

her: when are you getting married? you need to get out there and sell what you got. when i was your age, the men couldn’t keep their hands off me. and i wasn’t even half as gorgeous as you …

… even at my age now, they can’t stay away. but i did my time already and got my walking papers. i’m not doing that again.

June 10, 2012

I was lucky enough to wake up on such a beautiful morning. Unfortunately, my little brother wasn’t.

Rest in Peace to one of my biggest inspirations. Your crazy self will never be forgotten.

this holiday season, what i’m most thankful for is that my family isn’t as f**ked up as the one i just watched on Dr. Phil.

from my mother’s mouth

her: that book you had the other day is hilarious.

me: what book?

her: something about “your degree won’t keep you warm at night”  (this book). see that’s what wrong with you young girls. you think you’re all that. you’re almost 30. you need to hurry up and get married. or you’re going to end up an old maid.

me: i’m 25.

her: exactly.

me: but you were married at 26. how did that work out for you?

her: don’t worry about me. you need to get married and start having kids and get it out of the way. look at me. i had my kids early. and look how good i still look all these years later.
